HD series single-throw and HS series double-throw knife switches are suitable for use in complete power distribution installations with AC 50Hz, rated voltage up to 400V, DC up to 230V and rated current up to 3000A, as infrequent manual connection and disconnection of AC and DC circuits or for isolation switches. Of which:

● The single and double throw knife switches of the central handle type are mainly used in substations, without cutting off circuits with current, as disconnecting switches.

● The central frontal lever-operated knife switch is mainly used in frontal-operated and rear-maintained switchgear, where the operating mechanism is mounted directly in front.

● Switches fitted with an interrupter can cut off the current load, while knife switches without an interrupter are only used as disconnecting switches.

● For switches with a current greater than 1500 A, the user consults with the manufacturer.
